The Liquid Diet Plan

Posted by Saito on July 16, 2009

Hey guys, let’s take a look at a new/old concept…trading solid foods for drinks.

Q & A

WHAT?? Why would I want to trade my solid foods for liquid drinks?

Well obviously to help you lose weight. Water, for instance, when you drink the 8 cups of water you HAVE to drink every day…it cleanses your body of impurities and takes away unneeded fat substances. Imagine…having a constant flow of liquid through your body…(besides needing to constantly use the bathroom lol) can you imagine that coupled with daily exercise, how much weight you could lose??

Okay that makes sense, but I can drink something other then water right? If I don’t I’ll…starve O.o.

Of course you can drink something other then water, milk shakes/fruit shakes for instance. For breakfast, lunch and dinner you make your own milk shake/fruit shake. Just don’t add a lot of sugar to your shakes k? =)

How long should I stay on this liquid diet??

For as long as you wish, this won’t harm your body.

– – – – – – – – – – –

The rest now is up to you, you have to make the right choices. And I repeat, don’t add a lot of sugar to your shakes.

The Top Five Common Eating Mistakes…

Posted by Saito on July 6, 2009

woman-eating-apple

There are five common mistakes people think actually help them lose weight and stay healthy…they couldn’t have made a worse “mistake”; this completely effects “us teens” and our life style, we have to let our parents know what they are mistakenly doing:

1. Truthfully, we can’t tell the good fats from the bad fats.

Alice Lichtenstein, DSc, an American Heart Association spokesperson says, “Most people still don’t get that some fats are actually good for you, You want to avoid saturated and trans fats, but you need more monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats. Good sources are fish, nuts, avocados, and soybean and canola oils.”I know, half of that seems to be just a bunch of “yadyada” but still it’s a great source of info all the same.

2. To save money…most adults stoop down to take out.

Now I know it’s just necessary to have take out from a fast restaurant, it’s so convenient. But truthfully, calorie-wise, this fattening-pricey mistake can cost you more then you realize. Karen Weber Cullen, DPH, RD, research nutritionist at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston *pant* says, “People think that supersizing a restaurant meal is a money saver, but it’s not a health bargain if it has way too many calories.” My suggesting…rethink fast-food restaurant strategies =D.

3. Lol some people “imagine” that anything liquid doesn’t have any calories whatsoever…ooo that’s one BIG mistake.

You have to realize (or rather adults realize) that most liquid products DO have some kind of sugar within them…
Judith Stern, ScD, RD, professor of nutrition and internal medicine at the University of California, Davis *GASP* says, “What freaks me out is the amount of sugared soda and juice we drink. I’d like to see all the sugared drinks sent out into space, where they could orbit the Earth forever.” …yeah I know, she is “enthusiastic” about her work LOL. BUT I have to agree with her, ’cause it’s true…sugary soda and juice is not the right choice for any of us =)

4. K THIS is scary…we can’t really tell if were hungry…or not.

Elisabetta Politi, RD, nutrition manager of the Duke University Diet & Fitness Center in Durham, NC says, “If you don’t know when you’re hungry, you don’t know when you’re full, so you won’t know when to stop eating.” Too true, most of us really don’t know what “truly hungry” is…but as teens of course I’m sure we can decipher whether were hungry or just eating for pleasure…=P. Consult your doctor if you have though, a problem, deciphering whether your hungry or not.

5. Most American’s have what is called “Microwave Addiction”…

It means we rely heavily on processed microwavable goods…Jo Ann Hattner, RD, clinical dietitian at Stanford University Medical Center says, “Eating too many heavily processed foods can leave you short on fiber and antioxidants such as vitamin C.” You don’t want to be “missing something” like vitamin C in your diet, especially since we are still just teens and need all the help we can get <.<.

– – – – – – – – – – – – –

Helping your parents correct these "mistakes" will not only help you now, but obviously, later on in your life =D.

Well guys that's it for now, stay tuned for the next update =D.

How To Take Advantage Of Summer Weather And Lose Weight

Posted by Saito on May 18, 2009

summer_fun

I find that I have to take certain steps and plan ahead for summer time workouts, mostly because of the hot weather. I’ll explain why:

1. Hot temperatures keep me from doing my workouts in the middle of day when it’s the hottest, I have to do everything mainly in the morning.

2. I seem to have the most energy in the morning anyway so all of this works out, I think everyone on average workouts out in the morning.

– – – – – – – – – – – – –

Here is what I suggest you do in order:

1. Early in the morning you should start out with your aerobic routines. Doing this first will actually help you have more energy during the rest of the day, anytime after morning hours you won’t have the same amount of energy as you started.

2. After aerobics you should go into your weight lifting routines. Try to do it in the morning as well.

3. When after you’ve completed your work out routines (if you don’t already have a routine check out the Workout Routines section) lunch should be nutritional and balanced. Milk, veggies, fruits, grains you know a completely balanced meal.

4. After lunch try and spend some time outside, the sun is very good for your skin and body growth.

5. When you feel wiped just rest, even if it’s outside. Rest is always important.

– – – – – – – – – – – –

If you keep a schedule like that in summer time you should see results within at least a month, keep a good schedule going and enjoy summer vacation!

Stay tuned for the next update!

How To Combat The Swine Flu: Part 1

Posted by Saito on April 28, 2009

pig

Well guys, guess what? Pigs have taken their revenge on the human race, they have released a new virus…the Swine Flu.

Q & A

I know I heard about that on the news, what should I do?

I read up on the BBC that there are simple ways to protect yourself from the new virus that seems to be attacking at every part of the globe. Here take a look at this list:

What you should do in the current situation at hand.

1. Keep your hands clean. Take a bottle of hand sanitizer with you as an extra precaution.

2. Invest in one of those surgical masks you see doctors wear. Check your local pharmacy. NOTE: If you have the Swine Flu, have someone pick up a mask for you so you don’t spread the virus.

3. Stay in your own zone. Try to avoid too much contact with people.

4. Be careful where you eat and what you eat. I would trust my own food more then food from a fast food restaurant. If you have fresh vegetables, be sure to give them an extra good rinse off before you eat anything.

5. Another thing, try to avoid contact with animals. Especially animals that live near or on farms.

– – – – – – – – – – –

This is a terrible tragedy, so many have already died because of this virus. I wish you all luck and hope you don’t catch the virus. And above all things right now…be careful.

Resveratrol: Wait What’s Resveratrol?

Posted by Saito on February 23, 2009

Grapes full of Resveratrol

Resveratrol is a special nutrient that is normally found in red grapes. Grapes use Resveratrol to heal a bruise or a burn from the sun anything that damages the grape, it uses it so it may return back to normal form and shape.

Q & A

Ok great well it helps the grapes…but what has this to do with me and my health?

Well not only is Resveratrol found in grapes but it’s also found in animals. When an animal is starving, near death, Resveratrol is released throughout the animals body; Resveratrol keeps the animal from catching deadly diseases till it finds the proper food source. It keeps the animal alive! This also pertains to us, if we take Resveratrol as a supplement it will protect us from diseases-protecting us from every disease as a matter of fact!

Ok that’s cool, but is that all it can do for me?

No, that was just the beginning; there is so much more it can do. Resveratrol tricks your body into making every possible move to preserve your body as you get older, it boosts your defenses (protecting you from disease) and keeps you in top physical condition. In order for Resveratrol to work at it’s best you need a good diet; eating balanced meals and such. As I said before, it preserves your body as you get older and it helps you live healthier, longer. It also helps your brain-it keeps your mind clear and focused.

Wow, where can I get this and how do I take Resveratrol?

I suggest you take it in veggie capsule form:

Click the following link and you can get Resveratrol in veggie capsule form. It’s recommended that you take two a day, one in the morning and one at night: Eresveratrol.com

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

I’ve been taking Resveratrol for several months now and I’m enjoying it’s benefits, you know my mind is clear and focused :D. I enjoy it, my mind does not feel cluttered as it use to…how cool is that :D!! Now my mom is taking Resveratrol, and she is also enjoying its bountiful benefits!! She says it has helped her with her memory and her mind is clearer then it has been in a long while 😀

Well that’s all for now, stay tuned for the next update 😀

HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP IS NOT YOUR FRIEND: Part 4

Posted by Saito on January 26, 2009

I just found some juicy info for you guys concerning High Fructose Corn Syrup, HFCS is officially banned from Europe.

HFCS BANNED

Yep banned, no product in Europe should by law contain HFCS. Ah Europe, that was a smart move. If only I could be there to try products that don’t contain HFCS, it would be a nice change since I have to eat smart everyday of my life here in America…

Its sad that we who live in America have to suffer with obesity, HFCS is such a big waste product. Why hasn’t it been banned here in America? It’s been proven that HFCS has big role to play in the obesity factor. Yet it’s still being used in everyday food products, which in turn causes us to remain overweight and unhealthy.

Keep trying to stay away from HFCS, keep trying to eat smart and daily exercise. You will benefit greatly doing so 😀

Weight Losing Tips: Third Step

Posted by Saito on January 12, 2009

Check out the next update called Step Four

Like my mom says “everything in moderation” take your time while eating, have a balanced diet 😀

This is one of the MOST IMPORTANT STEPS OF LOSING WEIGHT AND KEEPING A BALANCED DIET!! Having a balanced meal is essential to losing weight it’s a *must*.  If you view the previous step that dealt with staying away from cheese I had pizza and balanced the amount of cheese I consumed with a large portion of salad, that is a *Very Good* balance, perfect for your body :D.

Then there is a second important part to this, “everything in moderation”. My mom always says to eat in a good moderate direction, take it easy, have something healthy to go with something starchy or oily just like I was explaining above paragraph. Sometimes for lunch at my house I eat left overs from last night, some times it’s pasta or burritos, for lunch though this time I had pasta :D. Normally the pasta is done with thick noodles, the sauce consists of Alfredo sauce, chicken pieces and broccoli. Now this is a completely balanced meal for dinner, but for lunch I normally have an orange or an apple to go with it, you need more energy in the day and a functioning body in every single area inside and out.

The last but not least part of this whole step is very small but important, chewing your food slowly. For me I used to gobble down food without a second thought and not chew it down properly, now I consume my food slowly and speak more often at the table while eating a great meal. Why do I do this? I do this so my body can take the nutrients out of the food properly and waiting for my brain to catch up with how much I am eating, it takes twenty minutes for your brain to realize how much you have taken in to eat…so it’s important to take your time, at dinner time normally your in no rush, take it easy and relax. This is a great way of losing weight and staying healthy :D.

Stay tuned tomorrow for the next step =D.

Check out the previous update called Second Step
