This Teens Weight Loss Plan Holiday Special: Aftermath

Whoa! That was a great Christmas! I’m sure everybody had great quality time with family and friends, but we still have one holiday left AND leftovers.

Now I don’t know about you guys but I would LOVE some of the sugary treats from a Christmas feast, and I know I can do it the smart way. I just simply balance my intake :D. We had pre-made cheesecake (just to warn you guys, normally if you buy something from a store that is pre-made it could very much so have High Fructose Corn Syrup mixed in, so be careful how much cheese cake you have and try to have it plain since the pre-made cherry dressing normally contains HFCS (high fructose corn syrup) as a sweetener yuck) this time for Christmas, I see a slice AND I WANT IT! But I know it’s just processed sugar…what can I do to balance the bad sugar with?

Well I take an orange or strawberry and I eat it with my cheesecake, I eat the cheesecake and gain a lot of sugar…but if I balance it with NATURAL sugar it seems to dilute the other bad sugar. Afterwords I make a nice microwaved ham sandwich, I don’t put cheese on my sandwich I put other things I like on it and with it; like mushrooms or avocado’s after it’s done cooking, with a dill pickle on the side. After eating that I wash it all down with fresh, cold milk (or water or tea)…yum…

That’s ONE scenario, that is not the only sugary treat I have after Christmas…

I have three other treats I’d like to discuss: Chocolate Pudding Pie, Apricot Scones and Hot Chocolate (very good)

1. I enjoy Chocolate Pudding Pie, it’s fantastic!

When I see a pie slice of Chocolate Pudding Pie I have to have it! So when I take out a slice I like to dilute my sugar intake. I have a glass of milk so it runs down smoothly, then I have some eggs over easy to go with it. It’s very nice and warm when I have eggs over easy and it’s pretty simple to cook up. I feel satisfied and healthy after eating both the Chocolate Pudding Pie and the eggs over easy it settles well.

2. Apricot Scones are one of the best breakfast treats you could have in the morning…

But they are also very fattening lol. So with my Apricot Scones I make oatmeal. I normally pour some brown sugar on top of it (I suggest if you have a Trader Joe’s In you’re area try and get Brown Sugar from there, it’s organic and natural :D) it just gives it that kick you need to have a great oatmeal breakfast, after eating all of that I wash it down either with Orange Juice or Milk (both will work and if your Lactose Intolerant just take the Orange Juice)

3. Last but not least HOT CHOCOLATE!

I don’t know what everybody normally uses to make Hot Chocolate, and I know it’s pretty convenient to make from a packet, but that normally contains unhealthy processed sugar and other ingredients that our body’s don’t need…my mother though has found a way to avoid all of that. She makes homemade Hot Chocolate with Hershey’s Cocoa Powder (the instructions are normally on the side of the tin container), she set’s it in a pan and cooks it over our stove . She adds her own ingredients that are healthy for us, the sugar she uses for one thing is from Trader Joe’s and is completely organic and natural when we buy it from there (it’s called Organic Evaporated Sugar Cane just for the record :D); it makes our Hot Chocolate tastier and we feel guilt free after having a homemade sugary treat. After it’s done broiling we can enjoy our treats guilt free…

Now these are just my personal experiences after Christmas, try to follow my example; just balance your sugary treats with a healthy snack on the side and you will avoid all the aftermath.
