<p>Hey guys, let&#8217;s take a look at a new/old concept&#8230;trading solid foods for drinks. </p>
<p><strong>Q &amp; A </p>
<blockquote><p>WHAT?? Why would I want to trade my solid foods for liquid drinks?</strong></p>
<p>Well obviously to help you lose weight. Water, for instance, when you drink the 8 cups of water you HAVE to drink every day&#8230;it cleanses your body of impurities and takes away unneeded fat substances. Imagine&#8230;having a constant flow of liquid through your body&#8230;(besides needing to constantly use the bathroom lol) can you imagine that coupled with daily exercise, how much weight you could lose??<br />

<blockquote><p>Okay that makes sense, but I can drink something other then water right? If I don&#8217;t I&#8217;ll&#8230;starve O.o. </strong></p>
<p>Of course you can drink something other then water, milk shakes/fruit shakes for instance. For breakfast, lunch and dinner you make your own milk shake/fruit shake. Just don&#8217;t add a lot of sugar to your shakes k? =) </p></blockquote>
<blockquote><p><strong>How long should I stay on this liquid diet??</strong></p>
<p>For as long as you wish, this won&#8217;t harm your body. </p></blockquote>

<p>The rest now is up to you, you have to make the right choices. And I repeat, don&#8217;t add a lot of sugar to your shakes. </p>

<p>There are five common mistakes people think actually help them lose weight and stay healthy&#8230;they couldn&#8217;t have made a worse &#8220;mistake&#8221;; this completely effects &#8220;us teens&#8221; and our life style, we have to let our parents know what they are mistakenly doing: </p>
<p><strong>1. Truthfully, we can&#8217;t tell the good fats from the bad fats.</strong> </p>
<p>Alice Lichtenstein, DSc, an American Heart Association spokesperson says, &#8220;Most people still don&#8217;t get that some fats are actually good for you, You want to avoid saturated and trans fats, but you need more monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats. Good sources are fish, nuts, avocados, and soybean and canola oils.&#8221;I know, half of that seems to be just a bunch of &#8220;yadyada&#8221; but still it&#8217;s a great source of info all the same. </p>
<p><strong>2. To save money&#8230;most adults stoop down to take out.</strong> </p>
<p>Now I know it&#8217;s just necessary to have take out from a fast restaurant, it&#8217;s so convenient. But truthfully, calorie-wise, this fattening-pricey mistake can cost you more then you realize. Karen Weber Cullen, DPH, RD, research nutritionist at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston *pant* says, &#8220;People think that supersizing a restaurant meal is a money saver, but it&#8217;s not a health bargain if it has way too many calories.&#8221; My suggesting&#8230;rethink fast-food restaurant strategies =D.</p>
<p><strong></p>
<p>3. Lol some people &#8220;imagine&#8221; that anything liquid doesn&#8217;t have any calories whatsoever&#8230;ooo that&#8217;s one BIG mistake. </strong></p>
<p>You have to realize (or rather adults realize) that most liquid products DO have some kind of sugar within them&#8230;<br />
Judith Stern, ScD, RD, professor of nutrition and internal medicine at the University of California, Davis *GASP* says, &#8220;What freaks me out is the amount of sugared soda and juice we drink.  I&#8217;d like to see all the sugared drinks sent out into space, where they could orbit the Earth forever.&#8221; &#8230;yeah I know, she is &#8220;enthusiastic&#8221; about her work LOL. BUT I have to agree with her, &#8217;cause it&#8217;s true&#8230;sugary soda and juice is not the right choice for any of us =)</p>
<p><strong>4. K THIS is scary&#8230;we can&#8217;t really tell if were hungry&#8230;or not. </strong></p>
<p>Elisabetta Politi, RD, nutrition manager of the Duke University Diet &amp; Fitness Center in Durham, NC says, &#8220;If you don&#8217;t know when you&#8217;re hungry, you don&#8217;t know when you&#8217;re full, so you won&#8217;t know when to stop eating.&#8221; Too true, most of us really don&#8217;t know what &#8220;truly hungry&#8221; is&#8230;but as teens of course I&#8217;m sure we can decipher whether were hungry or just eating for pleasure&#8230;=P. Consult your doctor if you have though, a problem, deciphering whether your hungry or not.<br />
<strong><br />
5. Most American&#8217;s have what is called &#8220;Microwave Addiction&#8221;&#8230;</strong></p>
<p>It means we rely heavily on processed microwavable goods&#8230;Jo Ann Hattner, RD, clinical dietitian at Stanford University Medical Center says, &#8220;Eating too many heavily processed foods can leave you short on fiber and antioxidants such as vitamin C.&#8221; You don&#8217;t want to be &#8220;missing something&#8221; like vitamin C in your diet, especially since we are still just teens and need all the help we can get &lt;.&lt;. </p>
<p>- &#8211; - &#8211; - &#8211; - &#8211; - &#8211; - &#8211; - </p>
<p>Helping your parents correct these &quot;mistakes&quot; will not only help you now, but obviously, later on in your life =D. </p>

<p>Summer is fun, so is the weather, and especially all the sun&#8230;but obviously there is a limit to how much sun you can take&#8230;</p>
<p>AVOID BAD SUN BURNS&#8230;it can harm you later on in life&#8230;the biggest problem you would face from to many bad sun burns on your body will eventually cause you &#8220;skin cancer&#8221;. </p>
<p>But they can also &#8217;cause many other health problems, one of the worst side effects besides &#8220;skin cancer&#8221; is called &#8220;sun spots&#8221;. </p>
<p>You get this white spots on your skin in your thirties/forties and they never go away&#8230;</p>
<p>There is still MORE, here&#8217;s a list: </p>
<p>1. It can &#8217;cause premature wrinkling. </p>
<p>2. Heat Stroke. </p>
<p>3. Cold sores. </p>
<p>4. Allergic reactions to sun exposure or to sunscreen products. </p>
<p>- &#8211; - &#8211; - &#8211; - &#8211; - &#8211; -  </p>
<p>All you can do is to put on plenty of sun scree, try not to stay in the sun too long&#8230;and you&#8217;ll be just fine <img src='http://s1.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

<p><strong>Conclusion:</strong> I like my main meal, the appetizer&#8217;s really aren&#8217;t necessary unless you want to fatten up! </p>

<p>Water is essential to every part of your body. It contains everything your body needs for survival and a long life. There a some important cool reasons why drinking plenty of water is so beneficial, here&#8217;s the list: </p>
<p><strong>1. Water helps in getting rid of head aches.<br />
Seriously, three quarters of your brain is made out of water. It will help soothe your mind and take care your head ache no prob.  </p>
<p>2. Water also helps take care of nasty infections.<br />
If you have a fever, or any sort of cold/virus water helps clear out the infection so you may return back to normal. </p>
<p>3. Water takes care of your skin.<br />
It helps keep your skin smooth and healthy. If you don&#8217;t drink enough water your skin can feel delicate and dry, giving you that unhealthy look. </p>
<p>4. Water takes care of bad breath.<br />
Saliva helps get rid of bacteria that forms in your mouth, saliva is formed by water. If you don&#8217;t drink enough water, saliva won&#8217;t form in your mouth and therefore cause you bad breath. </p>
<p>5. Water takes care of concentrated urine.<br />
If you don&#8217;t drink enough water, urine concentrates and that means there isn&#8217;t enough water flow through your kidney&#8217;s. The more water you drink the less concentrated your urine will be.<br />

<p>Ever been hashed by an adult? I&#8217;m sure everyone has, sometimes it&#8217;s for your benefit sometimes it just makes things worst. </p>
<p>But why exactly does it happen? Well most of the time their just worried about you, wanting to be the best help they can be even when they don&#8217;t realize it&#8217;s just stressing you out. </p>
<p>Sometimes adults even give out advice (duh), but sometimes you get advice that&#8217;s either good or bad. It&#8217;s your job to decipher the good and bad advice, try your best to find good advice. Don&#8217;t try looking for trouble, sometimes something that sounds like it&#8217;s good advice turns out to be even worse then the bad advice. </p>
<p>Most adults are just cranky, why?: </p>
<p><strong>1. Their bodies ache. </p>
<p>2. The economy is falling. </p>
<p>3. They read the news too often. </p>
<p>4. Work is a nightmare. </p>
<p>5. Not enough family time. </p>
<p>6. Have had no vacation time just to chill. </strong></p>
<p>This is my perception of most older adults and why they scold you even on the tiniest thing. </p>

<p>The best thing for you to do is to try and help them get over their own stresses, that way yours will float away like it never existed. Just be yourself, try to stay calm and handle the situation maturely! </p>

<p><strong>Conclusion:</strong> It&#8217;s obvious the restaurants aren&#8217;t looking out for your health, keep that in mind when you have your next meal&#8230; </p>

<p>I&#8217;m amazed that we are all used to this amount of food, no wonder so many are having obesity problems. They have been eating to much for their bodies actual needs! <p>I find that I have to take certain steps and plan ahead for summer time workouts, mostly because of the hot weather. I&#8217;ll explain why: </p>
<p><strong>1. Hot temperatures keep me from doing my workouts in the middle of day when it&#8217;s the hottest, I have to do everything mainly in the morning.  </p>
<p>2. I seem to have the most energy in the morning anyway so all of this works out, I think everyone on average workouts out in the morning. </strong> </p>
<p>- &#8211; - &#8211; - &#8211; - &#8211; - &#8211; - &#8211; - </p>
<p>Here is what I suggest you do in order: </p>
<p><strong>1. Early in the morning you should start out with your aerobic routines. Doing this first will actually help you have more energy during the rest of the day, anytime after morning hours you won&#8217;t have the same amount of energy as you started. </p>
<p>2. After aerobics you should go into your weight lifting routines. Try to do it in the morning as well. </p>
<p>3. When after you&#8217;ve completed your work out routines (if you don&#8217;t already have a routine check out the <strong>Workout Routines</strong> section) lunch should be nutritional and balanced. Milk, veggies, fruits, grains you know a completely balanced meal. </p>
<p>4. After lunch try and spend some time outside, the sun is very good for your skin and body growth. </p>
<p>5. When you feel wiped just rest, even if it&#8217;s outside. Rest is always important.<br />

<p>If you keep a schedule like that in summer time you should see results within at least a month, keep a good schedule going and enjoy summer vacation! </p>
